Celestial Illusions
An Anita Blake style RPG set in the city of Las Vegas. The Master of the City went mad, and as a result an execution was sanctioned. There is now a new Master of the City, however, the switch over of power is not going smoothly though and the city's preternatural community is splitting. Those loyal to the old Master believe that there was foul play and are trying to prove that the new Master, an old friend of the former Master is responsible. Welcome to Las Vegas, a City where everything could change on the toss of a coin.
We've just started so seeking all characters, including Master of the City, Ulfric and many more!

Just finished HIT LIST and all I can say is FINALLY.... The real(and the one I fell in love with all those years ago) Anita Blake stepped up and In HIT LIST she kicked ass and took names just like in the good old days. However Laurell still had to put the obligatory sex scene but at least it was just one. Which comes to my next question
What are your thoughts about breaking up the storyline for a sex? I'm not a prude but I was begining to find all the sex boring and predictable because if you've read one Anita sex scene, you've read them all. For me the series started going downhill about book 11/ 12 it did sort of picked up on Skin Trade ( so I thought) but Laurell couldn't keep it going and it hit rock bottom with Bullet. But I keep reading the Anita Blake books in hopes that Laurell will return to her roots of letting Anita be a badass and not obsessed with sex and that wait has finally paid off....
IF THERE IS ANOTHER ANITA BLAKE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET IT BE LIKE THIS

Considering that it's really an "anything goes" sort of meme--including gen, regular prompts, etc.--it seems like too good an opportunity to pass up.

| Thy Kingdom Come seeking Anita characters! |
[Executed on Fri, Nov 13th, '09|2:01pm] |

Thy Kingdom Come Premise The action takes place in 2009 but in Caligland, the kingdom that lies between the realms of Heaven and Hell, Past and Present, Life and Underworld. it is the period known as The Dark Renaissance.
It is a dominion where the preternatural beings rule, vampires and werewolves are elevated to nobility and humans are nothing more than food, labour and entertainement. Of course, there are rebels that try to fight to win back the country from the unholy creatures of the night.
Four times a year, on each continent, a portal opens between our universe and that of Caligland, a unique occasion for magic and science to mix, causing explosive results. While some seek to enter the Kingdom with a deliberate purpose or a task to accomplish, others seem to end up here by pure accident.
With inspiration borrowed from ancient lore and mythology, a royal court based on the 16th century Tudor court, a vampire hierarchy and clans originating in the Vampire: the Masquerade roleplaying universe, a vast variety of supernatural fandoms to choose from and a well-elaborated plot, this game has something to offer to everyone! One of a kind opportunity to play your favorite character in a unique, exciting and user-friendly environment! |

So there's a tv movie coming out next year.... Or is it still only possibly? I don't know. I am a member of so many different Anita Blake fan groups that it's quite irritating. All I want to know is when the movie is coming out and which channel it will be playing on. Because I have read umpteen different forums trying to figure this out and the first 83 pages on all of them are as follows: "There's going to be a movie!" "Really?" "Most excellent." "I can't wait." "Most excellent." "OMG!!" Yes, we get it. You are excited that there's going to be a damn movie. We get that. And whoever keeps saying, "most excellent," please stop. When I read it, it makes me want to throw my laptop out of a third story window, jump on it form said window, and drop kick it into a bonfire and watch it burn. Seeing as how I don't have enough money to get the viruses fixed, I doubt I'll be able to buy a new laptop. Much appreciated. So all I want to know is: When is it going to be on? And what channel?
Hopefully not HBO or Showtime. Not all of us have enough money to afford such luxuries.

| Book collection for sale! |
[Executed on Wed, Jul 29th, '09|3:22pm] |
I've decided I need to free up space and monies by selling off my Anita Blake books. So, if you've been wanting to get the whole collection now's your chance!
I put them up on ebay here, books 1-14 for $100 plus shipping. The first eight books are softcover (including several with the old cover art! I love those!) and the 9-14 are hardcover. I figured $5 per softcover and $10 per hardcover was fair.

| LKH drinking game |
[Executed on Wed, Jul 8th, '09|1:55pm] |
Okay, so I wasn't going to read Skin Trade but someone said it was more on plot than most of the books have been. I admit, I liked it a lot more than a lot of the previous books... oh, say, around blue moon or obsidian butterfly. ( a few spoilers ) AHem, anyway, here's a LKH drinking game I came up with for the parts of this book (or others) that have constantly rubbed me wrong: Note, this applies to either the Blake or the Gentry series (sadly)
1. If someone gives her "that look" which is "all male", take a drink 2. If she nods on the phone and then realizes the caller can't see her, take a drink 3. If she needs to take away "the pain in his eyes" of some deeply traumatized man with sexins, finish the bottle 4. If someone gets raped but they pretend it's not really rape, or that the victim may just be being a vengeful ass, or that they really ought to be willing to have sex with the protagonist, throw up everything (hopefully in the toilet, if you can make it) 5. If over a page is spent describing what someone is wearing or the color of their eyes, take a drink 6. If they use the phrase "lily white skin" as an insult, finish the bottle (no I don't know why that one bugs me so much, I'm just tired of seeing it) 7. If the narrator insists that she's doesn't feel as pretty as the men seem to think she is, take a drink 8. If someone gets superpowers from sex, finish the bottle 9. If you pretty much skip a chapter because of people overanalyzing everything, take a drink. 10. If she has sex with a new character she hasn't had sex with before, take a drink 11. Rainbow of tigers; finish the bottle then try to find those old "Lisa Frank" folders, if you have 'em. 12. If she conveniently gets a new power out of the blue (or motivated by RAEG or whatever) that saves the day, take a very large drink 13. If the plot suddenly gets wrapped up with less space and detail than most of the sex scenes, finish the bottle. 14. If you bought the book and, upon finishing, regret paying for it, try to sell or pawn or trade it for more booze.

| Sanguinarias: looking for Anita cast! |
[Executed on Wed, Apr 8th, '09|6:24pm] |

some are born to sweet delight, some are born to endless night. -William Blake In very recent years, Japanese scientists have invented a 'synthetic blood' that is capable of fully sustaining a vampire's diet. Sort of like a vampiric 'slim fast'; the drink, now mass marketed under the name TruBlood, has allowed many vampires to come out of the shadows and into mainstream society.
Now that humans are no longer an entrée, vampires have "come out of the coffin" to demand their place in society complete with equal rights and citizenship. Religious leaders and government officials around the world have chosen their sides and a full-on political war is in progress.
Feeling that they have sat back and watched these battles long enough, many powerful and ancient vampires begin to migrate toward the lush and decadent city of New Orleans, one of the country's strongest vampiric hot spots, where they are drawn by the call of their brethren to meet and discuss what these changes may mean for immortal "life" as they know it. But what will come of such an influx of power and what will it mean for the Vampire Rights Movement? Some are willing to give up the lifeblood that fuels their existence in order to join human society and others will try and take back the night. Which side will you be on?
Sanguinarias is a (limited) cross-fandom roleplay loosely based upon HBO's True Blood. | GAME INFO RESERVES TAKEN APPLICATION WANTED
